Welcome to the hub of all things "Summer" at the library! Check out all the events and challenges that will be happening this summer. We've got something fun for everyone—no matter your age. The library and bookmobile are open so come in and visit. We love to see you! #KPLSummer2022

  • Our program: June 1 at 9:00 a.m. – July 31 at 5:00 p.m. 
  • The bookmobile will be out and about in the county during the month of June, so hop on at the stop nearest you!

Reading Challenges

9th Annual
Edible Book Festival: Virtual Edition

Anyone ages 5–100+ can take part in one of our very favorite summertime events. Create an edible book simply by creating something edible that is somehow book-related. 

Edible Book Festival June 22 2022To enter, complete the online Edible Book Registration Form by June 19. Entries must be made of at least 95% edible materials and be family-friendly. One entry per person.

Everyone can take part in the public voting for "People's Choice" on Wednesday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m.

Words and Water Photo Contest Jun 30 2022 vs 2Join our "reading by the water" photo challenge! Send us your best photo of you (or someone you know) reading by the water. It might be at the pool, on the beach, near a sprinkler, while drinking water, in the rain, etc...Be creative! We'll print your entry and display it at the library.

  • Age Categories: Youth 5–12, Teen 13–18, Adult 19+
  • Entries are accepted until June 30
  • One entry per person per age group
  • Winners will receive Buffalo Bucks!

Makerspace: Get Creative This Summer!

Come create, invent, and learn this summer. Reserve time on one of our many machines and learn as you go. We value the process involved in making, thinking, and figuring things out.
