License Year
The license year, unless otherwise provided in the Nebraska Liquor Control Act, commences on May 1 of each year and ends on the following April 30. The license year for a Class C license commences on November 1 of each year, and ends on the following October 31.
Licenses
The City of Kearney oversees the liquor establishments within the corporate limits. Applications for liquor licenses within the corporate limits are reviewed by the City Council.
On March 22, 2011 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2011-28 establishing a policy for making recommendations with reference to liquor licenses issued by the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for liquor retailers in the City of Kearney. Liquor License Policy (PDF)
Those applications outside the corporate limits are reviewed by the County Board. There are currently 103 liquor licenses within the City of Kearney as follows:
