A special
emergency meeting of the City Council of Kearney, Nebraska, was convened in
open and public session at 10:00 a.m. on January 28, 2004, in the City Manager’s Conference
Room at City Hall. Present were: Bruce Blankenship, President of the Council;
Michaelle Trembly, City Clerk; Council Members Randy Buschkoetter (by
telephone), Don Kearney, and Stan Clouse. Absent: Galen Hadley. G. Allen
Johnson, City Manager; and Michael Kelley, City Attorney were also present. Michael
Jordan, Manager of Whiskey Creek was also present.
Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by
publication in the Kearney Hub, the designated method for giving notice, a copy
of the proof of publication being attached to these minutes. Advance notice of
the meeting was also given to the City Council and a copy of their
acknowledgment or receipt of such notice is attached to these minutes.
Availability of the Agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the
notice to the Mayor and City Council. All proceedings hereafter shown were
taken while the meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Mayor Blankenship stated that this emergency meeting is
being held for the purpose of considering seven Special Designated Licenses
submitted by KEARNEY STEAK COMPANY, dba “Whiskey Creek” for February 3, and
February 16 through 21, 2004
SPECIAL DESIGNATED LICENSE –
WHISKEY CREEK
Mayor Blankenship opened for discussion the Application for
a Special Designated License submitted by KEARNEY STEAK COMPANY, dba “Whiskey
Creek” in connection with their Class “I-35628” Catering License to dispense
beer, wine and distilled spirits in the Nebraska Student Union at the
University of Nebraska at Kearney, 1013 West 27th Street on February 3, 2004
from 5:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. midnight in connection with the Annual Chamber
Banquet subject to the City receiving the Certificate of Insurance.
Moved by Clouse seconded by Kearney to approve the Application
for a Special Designated License submitted by KEARNEY STEAK COMPANY, dba
“Whiskey Creek” in connection with their Class “I-35628” Catering License to
dispense beer, wine and distilled spirits in the Nebraska Student Union at the
University of Nebraska at Kearney, 1013 West 27th Street on February 3, 2004
