[ARCHIVED] Chaplain Payne Receives Chaplaincy Award

The Kearney Police Department was recently informed that Community Service Officer and Kearney/Buffalo County Chaplain Joseph “Bobby” Payne received the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists “Annual Chaplaincy Award: The letter of recognition states in part:

“The Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists recognizes, Bobby Payne for his un-selfish and outstanding ministry as a chaplain. He has served faithfully as a chaplain since 1994 and he still serves to this day.”

This award is in recognition for his superior and continuing work as a Chaplain for Kearney and Buffalo County. His duties as a Chaplain include assisting staff through counseling, calls for service such as death notifications, as well as counseling inmates at the Buffalo County Jail. Mr. Payne is a recognized trainer and has provided training for numerous Chaplaincy Programs throughout Nebraska and several surrounding states.
