[ARCHIVED] Jennifer Pharr Davis Returns to Library

Kearney Public Library welcomes Jennifer Pharr Davis back to Kearney for two different programs – Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. “Becoming Odyssa” and Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m.,” Take a Hike”. Jennifer is an author, speaker, and three-time Appalachian Trail thru-hiker. She had trekked more than 12,000 miles on six continents.

Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. Jennifer presents, “Becoming Odyssa”. She will share her transition from an over-confident graduate student to a student of the 2175-mile Appalachian Trail, braving situations she never imagined before her thru-hike. She will be speaking about the many challenges and lessons that present themselves along the trail, showing slides and answering questions about her trail exploits. After her presentation, she will be signing copies of her books, which Kirkus Reviews has called "an inspired exploration of the meaning of commitment." Join us for what is sure to be an exciting and inspiring presentation from this world class athlete and wilderness adventurer.

“Take a Hike” Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. when Jennifer returns to present for children and their families. This hands-on workshop for kids includes gear demonstrations, trail stories and animal pictures. Children will leave with some great outdoor safety tips and excitement about getting outside to explore their world.

Kearney Public Library is located at 2020 1st Avenue. Join us for one or both programs with this amazing person!
