On behalf of the Kearney Public Library Foundation and Kearney Public Library you are invited to an evening with national best-selling, award-winning author Gail Tsukiyama. Tsukiyama will present “A Writer’s Life”, Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kearney Public Library.
An award winning poet and novelist, Gail was born in San Francisco, the daughter of a Chinese mother immigrant and a Japanese father from Hawaii. She attended San Francisco State University where she received both her Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts Degree in English with the emphasis in Creative Writing. Most of her college work was focused on poetry, and she was the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Award. Gail has been recognized in the three major literary genres: poetry, short stories, and novels. We are fortunate to have such a renowned writer for our first Author Series. A book signing will follow her presentation.
Tsukiyama is the author of the following books: A Hundred Flowers, Street of a Thousand Blossoms, Dreaming Water, Language of Threads, Night of Many Dreams, The Samurai’s Garden and Women of Silk. The Library has all of these books available in the collection.
This inaugural event in the annual Author Series is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Kearney Public Library Foundation. Kearney Public Library is located at 2020 1st Avenue, Kearney, NE.
