Kearney Public Library welcomes Nebraska Author Scott Childers, Thursday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. He will present on his new book “The Phelps County Phoenix: The Loomis Fires of 1914”. He will look at the fires as a major turning point of this village’s history, 100 years ago when two major fires burned down half of the retail businesses and the mill.

Scott Michael Childers is a native Nebraskan who has spent close to two decades assisting librarians improve their skills in many areas such as technology, policy, intellectual freedom, and leadership. He is currently the Executive Director of the Southeast Library System. Please join us for the evening of history.
