[ARCHIVED] Library Hosts Author of Nebraska POW Camps

Melissa A. Marsh, author of “Nebraska POW Camps: A History of WWII Prisoners in the Heartland”, will be the guest speaker at Kearney Public Library’s Book Club Festival on March 23 at 6:30 p.m. Ms. Marsh’s book focuses chiefly on Nebraska’s three base camps of Fort Robinson, Camp Scottsbluff, and Camp Atlanta. Details include how the thousands of POWs were treated and how POW labor was used by local farmers and others. Many POWs returned to the United States after the war and became American citizens. The program will be held at the Kearney Public Library at 2020 First Avenue, Kearney, NE. You need not be a book club member to attend this free program.
