[ARCHIVED] “Medicare.gov 4 U” Coming to Kearney

The Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) is partnering with the Kearney Public Library and the Petersen Senior Activities Center in Kearney, NE to host monthly “Medicare.gov 4 U” classes for those who want to take a more active role in managing their senior healthcare options.

“Medicare.gov 4 U” is designed to provide direction on the use of Medicare.gov and the opportunity for attendees to receive hands-on instruction. Topics to be covered include general site navigation, Medicare enrollment, Part D plan review and cost comparison, “Extra help” application, and more. This event is free and open to people with Medicare, those who will soon be eligible, caregivers, and professionals.

“With the increasing number of people reaching Medicare age, it is important for them to understand and use the web to answer questions about the Medicare benefits”, said Rod Horsley, Executive Director of the South Central NE Area Agency on Aging.

Meetings will be held at the Kearney Public Library on April 14 at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Petersen Senior Activities Center at 12:15 p.m. to provide dates, times, and more details about what this monthly class has to offer.

To register, contact the Kearney Public Library at 308 233-3282 or Petersen Senior Activities Center at 308 233-3278. Space is limited.
