[ARCHIVED] A Celebration of State Capitols by Richard Gibson

Celebrate State Capitols with author Richard Gibson at the Kearney Public Library on Thursday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. His presentation includes a fascinating slide show of our nation’s 50 state capitols. He will highlight their development and include breathtaking photos of the interior and exterior of the capitols as well as historical photos and vintage postcards. Unique features and interesting stories of the state houses captivate both young and old.

Richard Gibson, a CPA by profession and a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Accounting, brings an appreciation for accuracy and a keen eye for detail to this exciting collection of photographs, vintage postcards, historic photos and remarkable accounts of the American capitols. In addition to four pages dedicated to each state, the book includes former capitols, governor mansions, comparative charts, state timelines, close-up views of domes and flowers commonly found in the state. As one historian wrote, “It is a tremendous work and will last 100 years or more. Your book will be a helpful guide for generations.” This program is free.
