[ARCHIVED] Origami Cranes for Cancer at Kearney Public Library

Learn how to fold origami paper into cranes, which at summer’s end will be sent to cancer patients. Cranes for Cancer is based on the book “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes,” a true story by Eleanor Coerr. It tells the story of a Japanese girl who got cancer following the WWII atomic bombing of Hiroshima and the legend that anyone who receives 1000 origami cranes will be cured of disease. Sessions for all ages are offered Mondays June 5 through July 10 at 2:00 p.m. No registration is required for these free sessions. Our goal is to fold 1000 cranes!
