[ARCHIVED] Kids’ Coin Campaign Kick Off

Help kick off the Kids’ Coin Campaign at the Kearney Public Library! Bring your lunch, your family, and your coins to the Kearney Public Library, 2020 1st Avenue, on Tuesday, June 10, at noon. Together we’ll have a picnic in the South parking lot and pool our coins to help build the expanded Library. The drinks and dessert will be provided by Friends of the Library. Lunch, crafts, and activities are planned for the youth in cooperation with the Museum of Nebraska Art. Adults are invited to learn more about what is planned for the new Youth area with Youth Services Librarian, Shawna Lindner and Library Director, Matt Williams.

The Kids’ Coin Campaign is the first in a four-part series of Brown Bag Lunch programs to introduce the public to the planned renovation and expansion of the Library and the Kearney Public Library Foundation’s Start a New Chapter capital campaign. The Kids’ Coin Campaign will run from June 10 through July 11. All coins collected will support the Start a New Chapter capital campaign.

The “Brown Bag Lunch Series” will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. on each of the following dates:

• June 10 – Youth Services
• June 24 – Technology Learning Center and Reference
• July 8 – Fiction and Nonfiction
• July 22 – Bookmobile, Circulation, and Technical Services
