[ARCHIVED] Library adds Foreign Language Learning Online Database

Kearney Public Library has added the Mango Languages online language-learning system to the services provided by the reference department. Mango Languages offers a fun, fast, and convenient way to learn to speak a foreign language, with lessons focusing on actual conversation skills.

Mango Languages currently offers 12 language courses – Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Greek, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, ESL for Spanish speakers, ESL for Polish speakers, and ESL for Brazilian Portuguese speakers.

Mango Languages is accessible in the Library as well as from anywhere that patrons have an internet connection, by using a library-provided password. The Library’s website is Click on Reference, then Research Databases to access Mango Languages as well as 25 other databases.

The reference librarian will provide one-on-one assistance for any of the Library’s databases. For more information or to obtain passwords for remote access, either stop in or call the Kearney Public Library reference desk at (308) 233-3256.
