The 2nd Quarter Officer of the Quarter was Officer David Stott. Stott was recognized for his effort and dedication in investigating a residential burglary in which a rifle was stolen. After executing several search warrants, based upon information gathered from a traffic stop, the Officer arrested a juvenile suspect for the offense.
The Officer of the Quarter for the 3rd Quarter was Officer John Loebig. The Officer was recognized for the apprehension of a suspect in a day time burglary, as well as his ongoing excellent criminal intelligence work and leadership.
Officer Jen Kolar was recognized by commendation for her efforts in locating and making certain a suspect who had escaped from a local hospital was apprehended. The Officer spent a great deal of time in developing information, following up on that information, and working with agencies in western Nebraska to make certain the suspect was located and apprehended. Her efforts were especially important as the suspect had attempted to escape during transport by a Deputy and had attempted to take the Deputy’s weapon during the escape attempt.
Sgt. Kyle Harshbarger and Officer Joshua Salter were recognized with a Chief’s Award for assisting a citizen in gaining compliance with a traffic/parking situation. This effort was done on their off duty time and provided leadership in doing more than “just police work” in their duties.
