Overview
The Kearney Sister Cities organization was formed in 2012 by a group of prominent Kearney businessmen, led by retired University of Nebraska-Kearney Director of International Education, Jerry Fox. Mr. Fox’s effort was supported by Mayor Stan Clouse and the Kearney City Council.
Kearney Sister Cities is a nonprofit citizen diplomacy network organized to create and strengthen partnerships between U.S. and international communities to increase global cooperation on the local level. The mission of Kearney Sister Cities is to develop and maintain international partnerships with other municipalities in order to experience and explore other cultures.
Kearney is one of over 700 cities in the United States affiliated with over 2,400 communities in 134 countries across the world.
