Meet Your Maker(space)
The machines available in the Makerspace vary greatly in what they can do and how complex they are to learn to use. Below, you'll find a list of all the machines and most offer a basic instruction sheet that you can download / print. The overview and basic steps will be useful to you as you go about learning a new machine.
All the machines are best learned when you have a project in mind. Some happen naturally, like when you suddenly have something you need to laminate. With other machines, we've found that a starter project can be helpful to beginners. These free projects are for people who are new to the machine in question and are 14 years old or older.
Look for the blue "Request an Appointment" button beside the machines with projects available. Click the button and fill out our simple form for the machine you're wanting to learn. A staff member will contact you within 1-2 business days, and a session will be scheduled within a week of contact unless a later date is desired. Most appointments will take between 30 minutes to an hour.
The machines that don't have the blue buttons can still be reserved using our online booking service. Staff will be on hand to help you learn and get started.
3D Printer
There is no Meet Your Maker(space) project for this machine.
3D printers are operated by Makerspace staff due to their complexity and the time it takes to print items. We do love giving tours of the machine and explaining how to submit prints, where to find or make files, etc. Feel free to request an appointment for a mini machine tour or drop in when the Makerspace doors are open.
AccuCut
Come make a fun bookmark of your own and try the AccuCut machine. If you wish, we can also show you how to use the laminator to help your bookmark last even longer.
AccuQuilt
There is no Meet Your Maker(space) project for this machine. However, if you have a project of your own, please reserve time with this machine and let us know it's your first time using it. Staff will help you learn all you need to know.
Adobe Computer
Staff is unable to teach the Adobe Creative Cloud programs to our patrons. We do offer books and online instruction with Universal Class. The assistance you'll find in the Makerspace will be basic printing and document saving help.
Universal Class offers professional led classes on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and more.
Book Binder
There is no Meet Your Maker(space) project for this machine. However, if you have a project of your own, please reserve time with this machine and let us know it's your first time using it. Staff will help you learn all you need to know.
Button Maker
Come make a button of your own and learn how to use the design software and the button maker itself.
Cricut Maker
Try our Cricut and the Easy Press by creating your own iron-on tea towel design. This project will likely take longer than one hour to complete.
Digitization Station
There is no Meet Your Maker(space) project for this machine. However, if you have a project of your own, please reserve time with this machine and let us know it's your first time using it. Staff will help you learn all you need to know.
Glowforge
Get an idea of all the Glowforge possibilities in 30 minutes with our Meet Your Maker(space) project. We'll help you create a "Gift of Good Measure" that shows how the Glowforge cuts, engraves, and etches.
Laminator
There is no Meet Your Maker(space) project for this machine (unless you also want to learn to use the AccuCut machine, see above). However, if you have a project of your own, please reserve time with this machine and let us know it's your first time using it. Staff will help you learn all you need to know.
Large Format Printer

Sewing Machine
Come make a standard sized pillowcase and try out your basic sewing skills.
Shrink Wrap Machine
