Yard Waste Containers

Yard waste containers must be placed at the curb, with the container handle toward the house, by 7:00 a.m. on each collection day. Yard waste includes:

  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves
  • Flowers
  • Garden material
  • Tree trimmings less than one inch in diameter

Composting of Yard Waste

The yard waste is taken to the Kearney Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill where it is composted and made available to the public. Do not place trash and plastic bags in the yard waste containers.

Banned Yard Waste

Yard waste and trees are banned from the refuse collection system and the landfill. Refuse collection containers that contain yard waste will not be emptied until the yard waste is removed.
