Bring your lunch and learn! These seasonally recurring events bring highly-qualified speakers to the library to share varied topics of cultural, historical, or scientific interest. These free programs are a partnership of the University of Nebraska at Kearney's History Department and the Kearney Public Library. #HistoryRemembered
This yearly event challenges entrants to create something edible that is somehow book related. Think book titles, characters, plots, literary figures, puns on book titles, etc. Typically this event is held in June or July each year and allows people to enter for a chance to win prizes or simply come and enjoy seeing other's creativity.
A cooperative effort of the Kearney Public Library Foundation and the library itself, the goal of this event is to bring best-selling, nationally respected authors to Kearney. Now, several years into this endeavor, the event is held at the World Theatre in downtown Kearney.
